Unseasonable warmth on the western, southern Plains

On the Plains, unseasonable warmth lingers in central and southern areas, with Monday daytime highs expected to approach 70° as far north as western Nebraska. Wintery weather will develop Monday evening in eastern Montana and the Dakotas.

Across the Corn Belt, cool, clear weather dominates much of the Midwest, including the western Great Lakes Region, which experienced overnight lake-effect snow showers.

In the South, warm weather prevails, with daytime highs commonly reaching the 60s and 70s°. Showers in the Southeast will gradually taper off as a developing area of low pressure moves offshore.

In the West, locally heavy rain and snow showers continue in the northern Rockies, as well as parts of thePacific Northwest, although precipitation is ending in northern California. Warm, generally dry weather dominates the Four-Corners Region.
