Friendly Governors’ wager features Indiana pork

large

The Indianapolis Colts will face the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game this weekend.  So how does Indiana agriculture a part of Indiana Governor Mike Pence’s and Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker’s friendly wager for the game?  Since Indiana is a leading state when it comes to pork production, Governor Pence offered to send shredded pork from Shoup’s Country Foods in Frankfort, Ind. to Governor Baker’s office in the event the Colts should lose.

If the Colts defeat the Patriots, Governor Baker’s office will send Boston cream cupcakes from Springfield’s Koffee Kup Bakery as well as a Super Bowl themed cake designed by Brockton’s Montilio’s Baking Company to the Indiana Statehouse.

In addition to the wager between the offices, the winning team’s Governor’s office will also receive local food products from the losing team’s state for donation to a food pantry of their choice.
