Dairy futures decline, cash holds

In Class 3 trade at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Tuesday, milk was lower, following through on Monday’s decline. The biggest losses were in the February through September 2015 contracts.

Over in the spot market, cash cheese was unchanged with barrels at $1.54 and blocks at $1.57. Double a butter was steady at $1.54. There was one load sold at that price and the last bid unfilled was for one carload, also at $1.54. Grade a nonfat dry milk was unchanged at $1.00. The last bid unfilled was on one load at $0.99 and the last offer uncovered was for a load at $1.05.
