Christmas tree farm provides more than trees

Dave Reese Kaleidoscope Farms

Dave Reese of Kaleidoscope Farms in Hancock County Ohio began selling Christmas trees 23 years ago.

For those 23 years the Reese family has had to change the way they celebrate the Christmas holiday.

“It helps remind us of the reason for the season and the importance of family,” Reese said. “We now share our Christmas celebration with about 2,000 other families.”

For Dave, it’s also watching the traditions that are beginning or being carried on.

“The thing that does my heart the most good is to see multiple generations out here,” said Dave Reese. “The kids out romping and yelling and having fun and the parents picking and studying the trees and the grandparents entertaining the grandkids, it’s just really neat and it helps us celebrate our Christmas too.”

Son Matt says his dad planted his first Christmas trees at Kaleidoscope Farms 30 years ago to keep the four boys busy.

“I did and it has,” says Dave Reese of Kaleidoscope Farms.
