Members make the difference

Villwock

Farm Bureau’s members are at the heart of the organization’s success.  Indiana Farm Bureau president Don Villwock says it is the members that make the difference.  “The president (of FB) can go to Washington, DC or go to the State House or Farm Bureau staff that are very talented can go,” he says.  “But, quite honestly, it’s when a member talks to a legislator that it really makes a difference.  It has a tremendous impact.”

Villwock tells Brownfield – membership is one of Farm Bureau’s top priorities in 2015.  But, one of the challenges is getting new members involved, especially with the number of farmers on the decline.  “We need everyone to sign up,” he says.  “We’ve expanded that list to include your feed dealer or your seed salesman, or your machinery dealer.  Everyone that a farmer does business with and has a vested interest in the success of agriculture.”

Villwock addressed members at the organization’s annual meeting over the weekend.
