Hadley’s named Indiana Farm Family of the Year

Hadley

Roger Hadley rented his first farm ground when he was a freshman in high school.  Since then, his love of agriculture and passion for farming continues to grow.

During Indiana Farm Bureau’s annual meeting this past weekend, Hadley and his family were recognized as Indiana’s Farm Family of the Year.  “The recognition is very humbling,” he says.  “I’m not sure what words to really put with it.  It’s something I never expected.  I had never imagined I would qualify for that.”

A lot has changed since he started farming in high school.  Hadley tells Brownfield keeping up with the technology can be a job in itself.  “We have so many things we can do now that keeps track of our technology,” he says.  “Look at “Big Data”.  What you have on your farm, where you’re placing this opposed to where you’re putting that.  The challenge there is are we backed up correctly.  I always question is there any chance we could lose that data.”

Hadley farms in eastern Allen County.
