Good week for soybean inspections

USDA reports soybean export inspections for the week ending December 11 were larger than what’s needed weekly to meet USDA projections for the current marketing year, but corn and wheat were short of their respective marks.

Wheat came out at 385,974 tons, up 115,757 from the week ending December 4, but down 93,836 from the week ending November 12, 2013. At this point in the 2014/15 marketing year, wheat inspections are 12,803,086 tons, compared to 18,956,812 in 2013/14.

Corn was reported at 546,515 tons, 12,985 higher than the previous week, but 94,418 lower than this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 10,161,202 tons, compared to 9,825,180 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 1,820,364 tons, 386,591 less than the week before, but 85,248 more than last year. For the marketing year to date, soybean inspections are 25,567,235 tons, compared to 20,879,007 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 217,197 tons. That’s an increase of 7,659 tons on the week and 204,128 on the year. 2014/15 sorghum inspections are 2,523,583 tons, compared to 929,404 in 2013/14.
