More food for thought on the new farm programs

Most farmers have begun the process of analyzing the new farm programs, trying to decide which options will work best for them. At the recent Iowa Farm Bureau annual meeting, we discussed those new programs with Dave Miller, director of research and commodity services for Iowa Farm Bureau. Miller says there are three basic questions that farmers will need to answer—but he says those questions underlie about 200 combinations, because this is the first time the farm bill really has the potential to integrate with crop insurance decisions.
