A slow finish to harvest

corn harvest 02

Harvest is slowly winding down in Indiana as cold temperatures and snow showers proved to be a mixed blessing for farmers last week.

According to the latest crop and weather report, 91 percent of corn and 96 percent of soybeans have been harvested.  Moisture content for corn averaged 18 percent and soybeans averaged 13 percent.

In other crops around the state, 88 percent of the winter wheat has emerged and 67 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent.
