SDSU wins dairy products judging

The South Dakota State University Dairy Products Judging Team has won first place – again – at the Collegiate Dairy Products Evaluation Contest.

This is the seventh year in a row for SDSU to take the win at the contest, held at Northern Illinois University.

SDSU has won the national championship 22 of the last 93 years of competition.

The four dairy science students judge milk, butter, Cheddar cheese, ice cream, yogurt and cottage cheese – searching for quality defects.

Team members are Rachel Achen of Warner, South Dakota; Rachel Johnson of Russel, Minnesota; Natasha Laska of Norfolk, Nebraska; Somil Gupta of India.
