The program at the Buckeye Shepherd’s Symposium will focus on management and breeding practices.

Roger High, Executive Director of the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association says one of the breakout sessions during the Symposium will be for beginning shepherds.

“In one of those sessions in the morning we have “Developing a Basic Flock Health Program,” “Sheep Behavior and Handling for the Beginner,” Doug Clevenger, our Shepherd at OARDC is doing that program,” said High. “In the afternoon in the beginners program, we’ve got “Basics of Nutrition, Mineral and Vitamin Supplementation,” with Dr. Francis Fluharty.”
