October base milk prices

Class II $21.93 per hundredweight down $4.18 from the previous month.  The Class III base for October production is $23.82 down 78 cents from September.  Class IV base is $21.35 down $1.23 for the month.   These are the lowest Class II and Class IV bases of the year.

Compared to the sequester-calculated base prices of a year ago, the October Class II price is up $1.37, Class III is $5.68 higher and the Class IV base is $1.18 higher.

Components prices per pound for October: butterfat $2.85; protein $3.7362; nonfat solids $1.309: other solids $0.467.  This is the highest butterfat price of the year.
