Another sales record for Certified Hereford Beef
Certified Hereford Beef (CHB) LLC set another sales record in fiscal year 2014.
Sales grew two percent to 50.2 million pounds. Since 2008, CHB sales have increased by 43 percent.
Company officials say they’re pleased with the continued growth, which took place despite tight cattle supplies, record high beef prices and a consumer trend of trading down to lower cost proteins.
CHB officials acknowledge the challenge presented by the growing scope and popularity of Angus branded-beef programs. The say their marketing efforts will continue to stress the differences between the two programs, while emphasizing CHB’s “consistently tender, juicy and flavorful beef product”.
