Soybean inspections top 2 million tons

USDA reports corn and soybean export inspections for the week ending October 23 were above what’s needed weekly to meet USDA projections for the 2014/15 marketing year, but wheat was again short of its mark.

Wheat came out at 212,575 tons, down 269,817 from the week ending October 16 and 239,294 lower than the week ending October 24, 2013. For the 2014/15 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 10,731,506 tons, compared to 16,096,459 in 2013/14.

Corn was reported at 702,906 tons, 14,747 less than the previous week, but 18,322 more than this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 6,396,449 tons, compared to 4,453,380 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 2,195,372 tons, 171,929 above the week before, but 132,754 less than last year. At this point in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 8,170,247 tons, compared to 7,128,521 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 165,983 tons. That’s a decrease of 142,444 tons on the week, but an increase of 130,636 on the year. 2014/15 sorghum inspections are 1,412,689 tons, compared to 664,720 in 2013/14.
