Wisconsin dairy technology tour

CIMG1056The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin are hosting three Dairy Technology Tours next week.  Each day will feature three different farms ranging from 60 cows to 460 cows.  Each has robotic milkers along with other robotic technologies including feed pushers, manure scrapers, calf feeders, rumen monitors and others.

Each tour will also have University of Minnesota Extension Dairy Specialist Jim Salfer on the bus to share details of his work with robotic milkers on 52 farms in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

 

The busses load at 8:30 each day, depart at 9 and should be back by 5.

  • Tuesday, October 14th: busses load at Janesville and will visit Reidland Farm in Monroe, York Dairy in Lake Geneva and Leedle Farms Black Cat Dairy in Lake Geneva.
  • Wednesday, October 15th busses load in Juneau and will visit Bacon’s Rolling Acres and Gurn-Z Meadow in Columbus, Laufenberg Farms in Waunakee and Adelmeyer Farms at Theresa.
  • Thursday, October 16th busses load in Onalaska to visit Pfaff’s Prairie Dairy at Melrose, Lane Creek Dairy at La Crosse and Kiefland Holsteins in Utica, Minnesota.
