NMPF hosts MPP session

The National Milk Producers Federation hosted a session on the new Margin Protection Program at World Dairy Expo on Thursday.

One of the key contributors in the development of the Margin Protection Program was Scott Brown of the University of Missouri.  He has now developed a web tool to help producers decide whether to participate in the program and at what level.  The website is farmbill.missouri.edu

 

U.S. Undersecretary of Agriculture for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services Michael Scuse told the group they want to make sure the program will work.  There is a public comment period from now through October 28^th and Scuse says they want to hear from producers if they have any ideas which could make the program better.
