Missouri corn averaging 19 percent moisture

There was little, if any, rain this past week in Missouri. Topsoil moisture 73 percent adequate to surplus. Corn is 87 percent mature, up 11 percentage points from last week. A third of the corn crop is harvested, 8 percentage points ahead of last year but 14 percentage points behind the 5-year average. Corn coming out of the field averaging 19 percent moisture and the crop 86 percent good to excellent. Soybeans dropping leaves progressed to 48 percent with only 4 percent of the harvest complete. Soybeans are 72 percent good to excellent.  A little over two-thirds of the cotton bolls open. Rice harvest is almost half done. Pasture condition was rated 2 percent very poor, 14 percent poor, 39 percent fair, 37 percent good, and 8 percent excellent.
