Solid week for corn, soybean inspections

 

USDA reports corn and soybean export inspections for the week ending September 25 were larger than what’s needed weekly to meet USDA projections for the 2014/15 marketing year, while wheat was short of its mark.

Wheat came out at 573,647 tons, up 54,492 from the week ending September 18, but down 327,609 from the week ending September 26, 2013. For the 2014/15 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 8,861,447 tons, compared to 13,546,683 in 2013/14.

Corn was reported at 601,825 tons, 452,412 lower than the previous week, but 43,771 higher than this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 3,141,838 tons, compared to 1,734,941 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 687,191 tons, 219,164 more than the prior week and 287,233 larger than last year. At this point in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 1,490,245 tons, compared to 988,184 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 296,434 tons. That’s an increase of 169,527 tons on the week and 192,196 on the year. 2014/15 sorghum inspections are 635,652 tons, compared to 414,706 in 2013/14.
