FFA membership surpasses 600,000

The National FFA Organization reports that as of August 31st, membership stands at a record 610,240.  An increase of more than 30,500 during the 2013-14 school year while the number of chapters across the country grew to 7,665.

Texas has the largest membership with 103,379 in 1,021 chapters.  California is second with 76,470 members, followed by Georgia with 37,698 members, Missouri with 25,935 members and Oklahoma with 25,561 members.

The FFA membership year runs from September 1st through August 31st.

Membership in states covered by Brownfield:

  • Indiana: 10,084 members, 191 chapters
  • Illinois: 17,595 members, 309 chapters
  • Iowa: 14,358 members, 219 chapters
  • Minnesota: 10,166 members, 182 chapters
  • Missouri: 25,935 members, 333 chapters
  • Nebraska: 7,290 members, 150 chapters
  • Ohio: 23,396 members, 303 chapters
  • South Dakota: 4,128 members, 79 chapters
  • Wisconsin: 19,191 members in 251 chapters
