CBB sets FY 15 budget

The Cattlemen’s Beef Board has set it spending plan for Fiscal Year 2015.  The Beef Promotion Operating Committee meeting in Denver this week allocated a total of $41.3 million from the checkoff with:

  • $27.8 million going to the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association
  • $7.7 million to the U.S. Meat Export Federation
  • $1.5 million to the Cattlemen’s Beef Board
  • $1.1 million to the North American Meat Association
  • $371,000 to the American National CattleWomen
  • $350,800 to the Meat Import Council of America
  • $222,500 to the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture
  • $45,000 to the National Livestock Producers Association.

 

The budget calls for:

  • $10.4 million for consumer information programs
  • $9.7 million for research programs
  • $8 million for promotion programs
  • $7.7 million for foreign marketing and education
  • $1.7 million for industry information
  • $1.5 million for producer communications.

The recommendations will be reviewed by the full Beef Board and must be approved by USDA.  FY 2015 starts October 1st.
