FSR in full setup mode

With the opening of the 2014 Farm Science Review coming up in just days, you can imagine what the exhibit area is like during the final days of set-up, but Assistant Show Manager Matt Sullivan tells Brownfield it really goes very smoothly.

“Everybody has a task and they want to get that task done,” Sullivan said. “With equipment being set on the lots, there are tents being set up, there’s all the pipe and drape and tables and chairs, everything down to the tablecloths, how are the tablecloths going to look, but it’s really neat watching all this activity.”

To make things a little interesting, Matt says some of the equipment is coming to FSR from Husker Harvest Days near Grand Island, Nebraska.

“A lot of the majors like Case IH, New Holland, the Monsanto’s, the Pioneer’s, those types of companies have their displays at each farm show, so they will pack up Thursday night at Husker Harvest Days and bring all of their major displays to Farm Science Review,” said Sullivan. “They will show up Sunday morning, bright and early.”

A highlight of Farm Science Review coming up September 16-17 and 18 at the Molly Caren Ag Center near London, Ohio are the field demos.

Matt Sullivan, Assistant Show Manager says both corn and soybeans will be harvested during the show.

“We’re going to have 18 combines, I didn’t say eight, I said 18. We’re gonna have 11 corn combines and seven soybean combines.”

In addition to harvest demos, FSR will have tillage demonstrations, including two high speed planters in the field.

Field demos begin at 12:30 with corn and soybean harvest beginning around 1:30.

Farm Science Review will be held September 16-17 and 18 at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center near London.
