Missouri farming rights amendment very close

The Missouri Farmers Care Coalition says the vote on farming rights constitutional Amendment 1 is too close to call at this point.  It has come down to a razor thin margin with a few rural county votes yet to come in and a few precincts in St. Louis County still not reported.

Dan Kleinsorge with Missouri Farmers Care says he did not expect it to be this close, “I knew it was tightening. I don’t know that I expected it to be within one-percent. So, yeah, I’m a little surprised by a few areas, a little disappointed. Our opponents, obviously, did a good job of scaring a lot of people, frankly, and spending money in an effective way. That’s a shame.”

Kleinsorge says they’re proud of the campaign they have run and he is “cautiously optimistic” about the success of the measure.

The vote is now within a one-percent margin (YES, 50.716% NO, 49.284%) and if it remains within that margin when all votes are counted, an automatic recount would be triggered with final results of that months away.
