Illinois corn and beans ahead

Eight-two percent of Illinois corn has reached the silking stage, a big jump from last week and ahead of the average of 70-percent.  The condition of the corn crop is the same as last week at 81 percent good to excellent.

Nearly 70-percent of soybeans were blooming as of Sunday, ahead of the average of 55-percent at this time.  The condition of soybeans was 77-percent good to excellent, slightly better than the week before.

With little rain last week, wheat harvest progressed to 95 percent complete.
