WCCI chooses two “Youth in Agriculture” award recipients

WCCI 100.3 FM is proud to announce that Brett Meador of Lena is this year’s winner of the “Youth in Agriculture” award for Stephenson County.  Brett is a 2014 graduate of Lena-Winslow High School and will be attending Iowa State University in the fall. Brett is the son of Rick & Mary Meador and has one sister named Maddie.  He is currently an intern at Crop Production Services in Lanark, Ill. He told us that being in FFA has helped him in several ways and that he’d one day like to make his living in farming.

Claire Conrad of Scales Mound is this year’s winner of the “Youth in Agriculture” award for Jo Daviess County.  WCCI presented the award to Claire at the Jo Daviess County 4-H Fair, prior to the annual 4-H livestock auction. Claire is a 2014 graduate of Scales Mound High School and will attend St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa this fall. Conrad says her 4-H experience has been valuable in preparing her for life after high school.
