Ohio’s crops are advancing
Warm temperatures a little precipitation helped alleviate some of the state’s excessive moisture last week. According to the latest crop and weather report, 75 percent of the state’s corn crop is rated good to excellent with 4 percent of the crop silking. Seventy percent of the state’s soybean crop is rated good to excellent.
The winter wheat crop is progressing as 62 percent is mature and 20 percent of the crop is harvested. Ninety-one percent of the oat crop is headed and 21 percent is coloring.
Ninety-five percent of the first cutting and 38 percent of the second cutting of alfalfa hay is complete. Sixty-nine percent of pastures and ranges are rated good to excellent.
