Nebraska’s ‘Beef State’ plate is back
After a nearly 50-year hiatus, “The Beef State” license plate is back in Nebraska.
The Nebraska Cattlemen’s organization says it has received the 500 applications required for the state to begin printing “The Beef State” license plate. This new plate is considered an “organizational” plate and requires an extra fee of $70 per year for individuals to have it on their vehicles.
The phrase “The Beef State” was on all Nebraska license plates from 1956 to 1965.
