Many storm-damaged Nebraska fields replanted

In Nebraska last week, replanting of storm-damaged crops was active in those areas impacted by recent storms. Strong storms this past weekend resulted in additional damage to crops and irrigation equipment.

Overall, Nebraska’s corn crop is rated 66 percent good to excellent, with soybeans at 68 percent good to excellent. Alfalfa hay conditions rated 51 percent good to excellent with alfalfa first cutting 70 percent complete and second cutting seven percent complete.

Winter wheat rated 44 percent good to excellent and 32 percent fair. Winter wheat coloring was 18 percent compared to the 30 percent average.

Pasture and range conditions rated 42 percent good to excellent and 35 percent fair.
