Crop condition ratings unchanged in Ohio

As of Sunday, June 15, 94 percent of the Ohio corn crop was emerged, just one point ahead of the 5-year average. 80 percent of the crop is in fair-to-good condition, the same as a week ago.

The Ohio field office of the National Ag Statistics Service (NASS) reports 91 percent of the Ohio soybean crop is planted, two points behind the 5-year average, 78 percent of the soybeans have emerged and 86 percent of the crop is in fair-to-good condition.

98 percent of the Ohio wheat crop is turning, 81 percent of the crop is in fair-to-good condition, the same as a week ago.

First cutting alfalfa is 68 percent complete, up 12 points from last week.

The condition of pastures in the state declined two points in the past week with 81 percent in fair-to-good condition.

Topsoil moisture in Ohio is 95 percent adequate to surplus.
