NRCS taking conservation easement applications

USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service is now accepting applications for the new Agricultural Conservation Easements Program (ACEP). Funds will be available to purchase conservation easements on agricultural lands and wetlands.

The agricultural easements would prevent productive working lands from being converted to non-agricultural uses. Cropland, rangeland, grassland, pasture and nonindustrial private forestland are eligible.

The wetland easements would restore and enhance wetlands and improve habitat. Farmland and converted wetlands are eligible.

Details and applications are available at USDA Service Centers or on the NRCS website. Applications are due to the NRCS by June 6.
