The Conversation:

Weather and Planting Progress
• With the progress of your corn planning in Ohio [Allen Ett] and Illinois [Judi Graff], has the cooler weather caused any concerns for your operation?
• Keith, how does the cold weather affect the growth of crops in South Dakota?
• Zach, as weather in Nebraska changed from cold and dry to cold and wet, how did moisture deficit concern you and how has the moisture improved your crop ground?
• Zach and David, with only 10 percent of your crop in the ground as of May 1st, does this concern you?
• In finishing up planting corn and starting on your bean crop, what kind of weather do you need in your area Adam?
• Adam, by taking the uncontrollable factors out of the scenario, as a farmer going into a growing season like this what is your biggest concern?
• With having your corn planting complete, bean planting is next. Judi, what are your plans for your operation after those are complete?

Farmer-to-Farmer Questions
• David said he had to change his program for tolerance to glyphosate. He asks if anyone else is making similar changes to ones he is making on the east side of the Corn Belt.
• Allen jokingly asks the other guests how much grain they have left in their bins to haul?
• Meghan asks at what point are you starting to think about your marketing decisions or when do you stop thinking about making these decisions?
• David asks Keith in South Dakota if rail an issue because some of it is tied up in the oil movement?
