El Nino chances increasing

Experts say the likelihood of an El Nino weather pattern returning to the U.S. this year are increasing.

Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology says the chance of an El Nino weather event developing in 2014 now exceeds 70 percent.

The exact timing of the El Nino is still uncertain.  But if it develops this spring, as some weather experts are predicting, it could mean wetter and cooler conditions for the Midwest this summer.
