Indiana Farm Bureau offers scholarships to ag students

Several scholarships through Indiana Farm Bureau are due over the next few weeks.

Scholarships due March 1

District 1 scholarship

On Saturday, March 1, applications for the District 1 scholarship are due. To be eligible, the applicant must be a high school senior admitted to an accredited higher education institution and must be planning to study at least one year in an agriculture-related field. Students must also come from a family that has held Indiana Farm Bureau membership for at least two years prior to the student applying for scholarship funds.

District 3 Agriculture Leadership Institute scholarship

This $500 award goes to an Indiana Farm Bureau member who is at least 21 years old and lives in Benton, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Jasper, Newton, Tippecanoe or White counties.Eligible applicants must be accepted and enrolled in the Indiana Agricultural Leadership Institute to qualify.

District 3 non-traditional scholarship

Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to applicants at least 21 years old who are enrolled at a higher education institution. Field of study is not limited,

District 3 Carolyn Burkle scholarship

To be eligible for this one-time $1,000 scholarship, applicants must be accepted in a higher education institution, and
reside in one of the following eight counties: Benton, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Jasper, Newton, Tippecanoe or White Counties.

District 10 scholarship

High school seniors who are over 17 years old and admitted into an accredited college can apply. Applicants must plan to study in an ag-related field for at least a year to qualify.

Scholarships due next week

The scholarships below are due by March 3, 2014. 

Indiana Farm Bureau Career Enrichment scholarship

This scholarship is for applicants 21 years and older who need help paying for text books, workbooks, supplies, seminars, credit or non-credit classes or a degree program.Applicants must be a member of Indiana Farm Bureau. AWards are also based on career goals, financial need and involvement and leadership in activities.

Marion Stackhouse Memorial scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship could go to one applicant, or be divided among several. Applicants must be members purshing an agriculture-related degree. Funds could be used for workshops, or credit or non-scredit courses.

Foundation Scholarship

An applicant in each district will receive $500 to help with school expenses. Applicants must be at least 17, a high school senior and and be from an Indiana Farm Bureau member family. Students must also be admitted to to a college. ‘
