Propane shortages prompts call for help

The Ohio Pork Producers Council (OPPC) has asked the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) and Ohio Farm Bureau (OFBF) for their help in addressing propane shortages, already impacting some of the state’s pork producers.

Artic weather conditions in Ohio and nine other states (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin) have resulted in an emergency declaration, making it easier for motor carriers and drivers to transport propane and heating oil.

The emergency declaration is in effect until February 11.
