Missouri State of Agriculture event planned

The first of its kind State of Missouri Agriculture event is planned for next Wednesday, January 29th.

Senate Ag Committee Chairman Brian Munzlinger is organizing it. He told Brownfield Ag News about it at the recent Missouri Governor’s Conference on Agriculture, “We’re going to talk about the topics of agriculture. We’re going to have the Director of Agriculture, Richard Fordyce, will be one of the speakers. We’re going to have the St. Louis Agribusiness Club and the Kansas City Ag-Business group also come in because it’s so important to our consumers, which are generally in our urban areas – or, our largest number of consumers – relate to where their food comes from.”

Fordyce still faces confirmation by the Missouri Senate.  The State of Agriculture event will also involve commodity groups and members of the Senate and House ag committees. Munzlinger says he is one of only three members of that committee who have a rural/farm background.

The State of Missouri Agriculture will be held Wednesday, January 29th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Truman Building in Jefferson City.
