Scholarships available to students in four states

Farm Credit Services of America is offering $2,500 scholarships to students at four land grant universities.

Scholarships are available to students at Iowa State University, South Dakota State University, University of Nebraska and Lincoln and University of Wyoming.

To qualify, students must be:

  • a college junior or senior in good academic standing for the academic year scholarship is received.
  • enrolled in the College of Agriculture with course work emphasis in agribusiness or economics, or enrolled in the College of Business Administration with course work emphasis in agribusiness, finance, accounting or economics at Iowa State University, South Dakota State University, University of Nebraska at Lincoln, or University of Wyoming.
  • have a umulative grade point average of 3.0 preferred.
  • have an agricultural background or work-related experience in agriculture.

Preference is given to residents of Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota or Wyoming. Previous scholarship winners, as well as certain employees and their relatives, are not eligible.

Applications, along with essays, have different deadlines for each university:

  • Iowa State University due Feb. 1, 2014
  • University of Nebraska at Lincoln due March 1, 2014
  • University of Wyoming due March 1, 2014
  • South Dakota State University due Feb. 15, 2014
