Illinois Beef Association offers scholarships, internship

Students can apply for scholarships and an internship through the Illinois Beef Association.

Scholarships

Several scholarships are available to qualified students. Applications are due March 1, 2014.

Scholarships include:

  • Four $1,000 general scholarships to high school seniors and college students.
  • A $500 scholarship in memory of Terry Clemons.
  • A $500 scholarship in memory of 1990 IBA President Marion Butler.
  • A$500 scholarships for Ogle County residents.

Eligible IBA youth must be from a family that is actively involved in beef production and currently an IBA member, can not be a previous winner of an IBA scholarship, and must complete the application and write an original essay.

Internship

IBA will offer an internship to a college student to begin mid-May and run through the Illinois State Fair. The intern will work in IBA’s communications, activities, and youth programs.

Eligible applicants must be a full-time student at a college or university, be an Illinois Junior Beef Association (IJBA) member, be from a family that is actively involved in beef production, and complete the application.

Deadline to apply is February 15, 2014.
