Speakers set for Heart of America Dairy Expo

The program is now set for the Heart of America Dairy Expo coming up January 23-25th in Springfield, Missouri.

The programs starts with an Early Bird Seminar on Thursday evening featuring National Milk Producers Federation president and CEO Jim Mulhern and a discussion on dairy policy and the Trans Pacific Partnership trade agreement being negotiated.

Friday’s program starts with “Trouble shooting Mycotoxin and Production Problems at the Farm Level” with Randy Asher of Animal Science Consulting. Following him will be Dr. Dan Tracy, DVM MS, on “Trace Mineral’s Role in Successful Dairy Production”.

Friday’s luncheon speakers include Dr. Adam Lock of Michigan State University talking about milk and dairy products in a healthy diet.

After lunch, Dr. Jim Quigley will cover formulating diets to develop the rumen.

Besides the speakers, there is a large dairy trade show and the annual meetings of the Missouri Dairy Association, Missouri Dairy Growth Council, Missouri Holstein Association, Missouri Brown Swiss Association, Missouri Guernsey Breeders Association, Missouri Jersey Cattle Club, Midwest Milking Shorthorn and the Missouri Ayrshire Association.
