95% of U.S. corn harvested

In the last national crop progress report of the year, USDA states this year’s soybean harvest has, for all intents and purposes, wrapped up for the season and the corn harvest is just about complete.

As of Sunday, 95% of corn is harvested, compared to 91% a week ago, 100% a year ago, and the five year average of 91%.

93% of winter wheat has emerged, compared to 89% last week, 88% last year, and the five year average of 89%. 62% of winter wheat is rated good to excellent, down 1% on the week, but up 29% on the year.

USDA’s final 2013 corn and soybean production estimates are out in January.
