Another record year for Certified Angus Beef

Certified Angus Beef LLC reports 865 million pounds of product was sold in the fiscal year ending September 30th, a 6.7 percent increase from the previous year. That makes seven consecutive years of growth for CAB.

Sales of premium steak cuts rose 6.6% with end meats gaining 6.9% and ground beef up 5.1%.

Sales were strong all year, especially during summer, when partners heavily promoted steaks for the grilling season. August was the best month ever with sales of 83 million pounds.

Growth was also balanced among divisions; retail sales increased 3.1 percent for the year accounting for 46 percent of total sales. Food service made up nearly one-third of sales up 6.2 percent for the year while consumer sales increased 11.6 percent.

International sales totaled 110 million pounds for the first year CAB was sold outside the United States. The brand found strong sales Columbia, Chile, Peru, Canada, Mexico, Hong Kong and Japan.
