Muscatine, Iowa Brownfield affiliate KWPC holds Ag Roundtable

Prairie Communications’ Ag Roundtable series of broadcasts continued from the Muscatine (Iowa) Ag Learning Center on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

The broadcasts are done a couple of times a year on Prairie Communications radio stations in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. The group’s CEO, Vanessa Wetterling is a skillful broadcast and well-read farm radio host. For 2 ¼ hours, she made the roundtable discussion format move quickly and made it look easy, said Brownfield’s Tom Steever, who went to cover the event.

A dozen panelists lent specific areas of expertise, answering questions from Wetterling. They included: Craig Hill – Iowa Farm Bureau President; Iowa State Sen. Joe Seng – Chairman of Iowa Senate Agriculture Committee; Iowa State Rep. Tom Sands – Chairman of Iowa House Ways and Means Committee; Iowa State Rep Bobby Kaufmann – Iowa House and 8th Generation Farmer; Heidi Vittetoe – Iowa Farm Bureau Ag Woman of the Year; Ryan Cox – Ag Lending Central State bank; Nate Pierce – Growmark Agronomist; Ed Ulch – Iowa Soybean Association Board Member; Lindsay Greiner – Iowa Food & Family Project Ambassador; Matt Deppe – Iowa Cattlemen Chief Executive Officer; Wayne Humphries – Iowa Corn Promotion Board; Wendall Shauman – US Grains Council Past Chairman.
