Global Dairy Trade auction on Tuesday saw overall prices increase 0.3 percent. Anhydrous milkfat was down 3.3% from the September 3rd sale, skim milk powder was 1.7% lower, milk protein concentrate was down 0.6% and rennet casein was 0.4% lower. Cheddar cheese increased 1%, whole milk powder up 1.1%, butter milk powder was 2.2% above the previous auction and butter was 5.2 percent higher. No sales of lactose.
This was the 100th Global Dairy Trade auction; six international dairy companies now use the GDT for price discovery: Fonterra (NZ) Dairy America, Amul (India), Arla (Denmark), Murray Goulburn (Australia) and Euroserum (France). The GDT has more than 850 registered bidders from 90 countries.
