That’s how Pro Farmer Editor Chip Flory describes the corn and soybean crops in Nebraska. Flory, who has been leading the western leg of the Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour this week, says the average corn yield derived from 230 samples in Nebraska was 155 bushels per acre. That compares to last year’s corn yield estimate of 132 and the three-year average of 148 for Nebraska.
Flory says drought conditions and uneven emergence issues are holding back the high yield potential of the Nebraska corn and soybean crops.
