Illinois soil moisture catching up

It was cool and dry last week in Illinois. There are scattered reports of corn being planted in the west and southwest, while in the north frost is coming out of the ground and they’re planting potatoes and oats. Oats planting is 17 percent compared to the average of 43 percent. Topsoil moisture is 93 percent adequate to surplus. Winter wheat is 85 percent fair to good, and 10 percent excellent. Pastures in Illinois are 72 percent fair to good.
