No matter where you go – farmers can always talk about the weather. Wabash, Ind. farmer and Indiana Corn Growers Association president Herb Ringel made his way through Commodity Classic last week he said there was a lot of talk about what the 2013 growing season will bring.
“Growers are talking about how a lot of areas are still dry and some areas – at least the topsoil is recharged but down deep the subsoil moisture hasn’t been recharged yet,” he says. “Farmers are also speculating if we’re going to have a big or a small crop – all dependent on Mother Nature.”
Ringel tells Brownfield he also enjoys being able to compare notes with other growers from different areas of the country.
