CME Group to reduce trading hours

Less than a year after expanding trade to 21 hours, CME Group is reducing hours for the Chicago Board of Trade and Kansas City Board of Trade grain and oilseed futures and options.

According to a statement from CME Group, the change was made following feedback from traders, commercial customers, producers, and other industry participants.

Pending CFTC approval, starting Monday, April 8, from Sunday to Friday, all times Central, electronic trade will run from 7 PM to 7:45 AM, and on Monday through Friday, there’ll be a break in the electronic trade from 7:45 AM to 8:30 AM followed by open outcry and Globex trade from 8:30 AM to 1:15 PM.
