Vilsack speaks at Commodity Classic on Friday

Thousands of farmers are converging this week for Commodity Classic. For the fourth straight year, a key Obama cabinet member will be addressing the event.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack will speak at the annual Commodity Classic convention and trade show. Vilsack addresses corn, soybean, wheat and sorghum growers at the event’s General Session, Friday in Kissimmee, Florida.

Commodity Classic is presented annually by the National Corn Growers Association, American Soybean Association, National Association of Wheat Growers and National Sorghum Producers. It offers a wide range of learning and networking opportunities for growers in the areas of production, policy, marketing, management and stewardship. In addition, the trade show Thursday and Friday showcases the latest equipment, technology and innovation.

The individual commodity organizations complete their groups’ policy discussions Saturday.
