Central Nebraska sale barn destroyed by fire

Fire has destroyed most of the livestock sale barn in Gothenburg, Nebraska.

No one was injured in the fire at Gothenburg Livestock Auction, which began late Monday afternoon.  There were no people or animals in the building at the time.  Owner Wendell Brott said there was livestock on the property, but they were safe and secure in a back pen.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshall’s Office.
