Soil productivity bill passes

SB 319, the bill that addresses unreasonable increases in Indiana’s soil productivity factors has been passed by the Indiana General Assembly.

The bipartisan bill which passed the Indiana House 97-0 on Monday did not receive any negative votes in either house.

According to the bipartisan Legislative Services Agency, SB 319 will save Indiana farmers from paying an additional $57.4 million next year and each year thereafter.

The bill now goes to Governor Pence for his signature.
