Weed management technology introduced in 2014

Lauren AugustAs weed resistance creeps northward, farmers are looking for new technologies and new ways to protect their fields. Lauren August, Brand Manager with MS Technologies tells Brownfield a first-ever in soybean weed management technology will be introduced in 2014. FG72 is developed by MS Technologies and Bayer CropSciene.

FG72 soybeans will be tolerant to both glyphosate and isoxaflutole. August tells Brownfield that FG72 is the first step in a foundational system that will grow to include a triple-stacked herbicide tolerant soybean, providing tolerance to glyphosate, isoxaflutole (Balance Bean) and glufosinate, the chemistry found in Liberty.

The official name for FG72 soybean weed management technology will be announced at Commodity Classic along with some research and field data.
