Bull consignments being accepted

Bull consignments are being accepted to the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association Seedstock Improvement Sale to be held Saturday, April 13th at the Union Stock Yards in Hillsboro, Ohio.

Those consigning bulls must be a current member of the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association. Bulls consigned can be from one to five years of age and are required to be registered and have expected progeny differences (EPDs).

The consignment deadline is January 31.

In the 2012 OCA Seedstock Improvement Sale, a total of 41 yearling and two-year-old and older bulls were sold for a total of $91,075 to average $2,221 per head.

A total of 32 Angus bulls sold for an average of $2,284/head, six Charolais bulls sold for an average of $2,125/head, two Simmental bulls averaged $1,775/head, and one Simmental-Angus bull sold for $1,700.
